[She smiles briefly.] “Seems to be pretty common lately. Can I ask why you’re there, too?”
Well, I don’t really know, to be honest.
[She nods in understanding.] “Just one of those days, huh?”
“Well.. you’re stronger and you’re capable of taking care of yourself, now that you’re a vampire.” “What were you expecting?”
“I don’t know… I mean, you’ve always known I never wanted this. I thought it’d bother you more, I guess.”
“I’m not here for that. If I wanted to kill you or your friends, I wouldn’t play games and I wouldn’t stop to chat either, I’d just do it.”
“…That’s actually surprisingly comforting.” [She grins a little sheepishly.]

If I’m not mistaken, it looks like something has most definitely changed about you. What would that be?
“Oh, well…” [She smiles awkwardly.] “I’m a vampire now. …Surprise?”
Oh! Was it a golden retriever? Mom’s been telling me there’s a little dog running around town, tipping over trash cans to eat. I was thinking about putting out food for him in the backyard so she doesn’t see.
“Hmm, yeah, I think so! His ear was really floppy; it was cute. I kind of wanted to take him home and keep him, but with me… the way I am right now, it wasn’t advisable. Especially since I don’t know what diet to stick to.”

That is … that is conceding defeat!
This life is but an endless battle, you see! It is forever attempting to mock you, to best you; battle after battle, it is a vicious cycle. But you must not let it triumph over you! I know you are braver than that — I know that you have the capability to be the strongest warrior Midgard has ever seen!
When all seems lost, always remember to scrape yourself from the unforgiving earth and remind Life that it shall not be victorious. Not while there is air in your lungs, and blood ever-coursing through your veins!
